, therefore, kids were being deprived of this important skill.

*Note! Because of the Covid-19 Pandemic, Sewho Studio is limited to small groups of a student at a time for our Winter and Spring After-School Program for Kids, and Teens. Please inquire for more information on any specific time and dates as needed.

Sewing Lessons

  • sewing machine skills
  • basic sewing terms
  • how to measure for pattern sizing
  • how to read a pattern
  • how to layout and cut pattern pieces
  • how to tell the difference between the right side and the wrong side of the fabric
  • garment assembly, instruction on zippers, buttons, interfacing, hand-sewing, and more

Due to COVID-19 Classes will have a maximum of 6 students, ages 8 and 18. And for safety reasons, we are still require to wear a mask while in class.

SewHo will provide Fabrics and notions needed in class once the student is registered for our After-Schoolsewing program. (Summer camper supplies are included). The Kids Can Sew® pattern booklets are available ($40) for kids. Projects include a drawstring bag, skirt, shorts, pants, and tops. This booklet is designed and illustrated to be user-friendly for children.

Adult students should discuss their project ideas with Conchi Vitale in advance. Projects can include garments, home decoration, and alterations/mending.

  • No refunds on or after the first day of class.
  • Makeup classes are scheduled with the instructor.
